on my 1993 miti pajero swb the when i put into 4wd the lights on dash dont light up checked bulbs all ok what else do i need to look for

The ecu that controls 4x4 system died probably when I drowned it

yup 4x4 ecu stuffed got one today 80bucks job done all back on line thanks for that page dude

Drowned ecu, ok that was easy then I guess.
Where is 4wd ecu then. Ive never had to play with that bit before.
Wheres it located and whats involved.

Its mounted in the dash below the stereo, there are two relays there, one for the electric aerial and the other is 4WD. It sends out the positive signal to the dash lights.

The ECU for the engine is lower! Think the 4WD would be the least of ya worries!!

Yep true it is slightly lower but do you know where the LR disco V8 engine ECU is.
Yeah that's right the arguable king of 4WD's brands locates this most vital piece of
equipment probably the lowest possible point inside the cabin.
Under the front seat.
Ive never understood why they don't locate them inside the dashboard area where ironically a good number of regular car makers position them.
