Hi Folks,
Just bought a 70 series diesel that needs some sorting.
Has been lifted with aftermarket shackles and fitted with wheels that stick out about 50mm beyond guards, previous owner was green stickered for these two things.
Figure I need to get a compliance cert or something for the lift? or remove these aftermarket shackles and perhaps fit less aggressive (or even the original) shackles (which I have). What is involved in getting a lift certed and can anyone suggest a contact I should talk to in the Kapit area.
To solve the wide wheels issue I was thinking to fit some duraflares http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =654619680, will this be acceptable come WOF time? Looking for a recommendation for a panelbeater in Kapiti who would do this kind of thing.
Finally, looking for a recommendation for a mechanic in the Kapiti area who can fix a gearbox oil leak and do fluid changes and a general service and WOF (maybe coordinating the Compliance paperwork?)
Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: FLARES, LIFT CERT, MECHANIC IN KAPITI
Depending on the lift you may not need a LVVTA certification, but you should ring a certifier or talk to your wof man.
Here is a link to LVVTA certification with a list of people in NZ that can do it, note that there are different levels of modification that each certifier can do.

Also keep in mind that a cert check is about $500 now so you may want to factor that into your decision. I've been through two checks but that was 10 years ago and it was 'only' $375 back then.
