I a see a lot of freinds having issues with warantee being void or motors being damaged by chips that just up the rail pressures etc on common rails to make more power ,
In everyones opinion what is the best in the long run ,
Has anyone had one in for 50,000 plus ks ?
A lot of chips are 1 size fits all where some companies can retune your factory ecu to the vehicle which seems like a far better idea to me however i believe toyota is one that you cant do this on.
Cheers in advance for your input

mates got a ecuchips.co.nz one in his, the kw system now in his 06hilux did just have a basic one before that has been running them for good 2 year now no issues and he drives hard, another mates got a brand new rx navara and they installed the chip for him.
myself have a steingbeur, came in it wheni brought it so dono when it was put it , its a 08 ranger, and haven't had any issues it has 3 power levels for everyday driving its on the lowest
Re: Diesel chips what do you rate !!
KW Systems chips supposedly hold the injector open longer on each injection event instead of upping the rail pressure. Supposedly they fit a plug between each injector, intercept and modify the signal. Don't know what happens to the factory warranty though.
$1200 for a system for a 2008 Focus and 135-140hp up from 115hp. Didn't buy it as it was outside my budget.

Cheers guys any other bad or good feedback ?
Re: Diesel chips what do you rate !!
ecuchips.co.nz seem ok fitted one to the bosses 08 crusier no problems after a year and a half on max tune! Did have a problem with one in 6M70 mitsi shogun, kept the fuel regulator going without the engine running, stopped using the chip and sent it back, something about not being compatible with the model of ecu.
Re: Diesel chips what do you rate !!
I have a http://www.racechip.de chip in my triton, have done for 20,000k, Ive sold a number of them with no issues. Ecu Chip is basically a rebadged race chip, as Jason is the NZ agent for race chip..
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..
Re: Diesel chips what do you rate !!
Talk to Peter James at Superchips NZ. They pull the programme out of the ecu modify it and then put it back in. They do this on custom software etc so it is specific to NZ fuel and conditions as well. Not just a trick the computer type system.
