Bumper and airbags....

Hey all. I was messing around this grassy hill in my R50 terrano, and descended a bit quickly, which gave the front a decent shunt when it bottomed out. Nothing too serious at all, but now my bumpers slightly on the piss. Id imagine all it'd take is to loosen the bolts holding the bumper on, and realign it a wee bit. Now, having airbags, am I in any danger of setting them off? They didn't go off when I did the damage, so i'd have a hard time imagining they'd go off when i'm reversing the damage, but with my luck, you never know! Cheers guys.

IT takes a fair whack to set off the airbags. 20 G to be exact for a nissan airbag system...and the sensor is no where near the front of the car. so if you haven't set it off it ain't going to go off unless you wire up your radio to the yellow harness behind the dash/center console while your making repairs.

Lmao cheers. Yeah figured its just me being a pussy. Ive heard a story of a late model Lamborghini awaiting an insurance assessment after having a decent, but repairable fender bender. Somehow, airbags get set off....instant write off. Sucker! Thanks for the feedback anyhow! Job for the long weekend.....

air bags usually have a minimum speed setting so they won't go off at low speed. also they have different sensor setting when in 4wd.
