JKU Roof Rack Options

G'day,

I'd like to take my bikes and kayak (creek) on my wrangler unlimited but not sure about the best way...

Has anyone mounted normal gutter racks on their hard top and carried a bike or kayak for extended periods? I'm reluctant to put that sort of load on the plastic gutter.

The alternative is the Garvin Industries Adventure rack - but it is expensive (probably $1200 nz) and I suspect it would generate a lot of wind noise. Does anyone have experience with it?
