2000 grand 4.7 radiator removel

anyone removed theres...seems like a lot of shit to move just to pull rad....had a look at some stuff on goolge some write ups say bumper off some dont ..seems on the 2000 ya gotta remove bummper to remove grill....

hey mate could you post a close up picture I have done a fair few of these and don't think that bumper does need to come off just not to sure of top of my head from memory the front grill comes out and just top support and can take it out very easy from there

I have a wg sitting at work with no engine in it will have a quick look first thing in the morning and post the fastest way to do it for you

right you are mate.....see not everything on the net is true...

.....seems the auxiliary fan has parted ways and molested the radiator and had its way with the shroud...

My WJ/WG has hydraulic fan driven by the power steering pump. Its mounted to the radiator and shroud.

yeah mine is the same. maybe they changed from 01 on?

anyone seen this happen before ,,,,only clue was when ac turned on was a slight vibration coming from up that ways then snap bang pop ...fark...last noise was me .........

Bumper has to come off umm the viscous fan u need to put a chain around and think is like a 24mm spanner to take it off remove shround and can get easy access to it I have just rebuilt a kj Cherokee 2002 so very similar design except front grille comes straight out on them to get radiator access this is WESTY33 just on my mates account atm the front bumper on them are very easy to remove if you have any questions let me no have worked at a jeep dealer for previous two years

tis out mate ,, took bout 40 minutes....that's the remains in second pic.....bumper still on .....just gotta price up new radiator, shroud ,fan blan blah.....

so seems the experts say I was unlucky and picked up a stone or whatever .....

will throw it in the hole on weekend ..plastic weld me shroud up and throw a new fan on .....
