Guess ill start this one off, been a while...
Had planned on trying to fix the GMC's leaking injector, replace the return lines and change the fuel filter.
Rang up Repco to try and get a price for a diesel fuel filter for the GMC, after giving them 3 different part numbers they had no listings, (which im suprised at since they have been bought out by NAPA which is US based), she managed to find me something in one of the books, $107
Thanks but no thanks, jumped on ebay and bought:
Diesel Fuel Filter
Rebuilt Injector
Injector Seal washers
Return line kit
Cost: $72nzd
Now just to sit patiently and wait for the goods to arrive

hopefully before we move house in 2 weeks, or maybe I should continue packing

Found some new wipers for the prado. Looked at the complexity of the job and decided just to sell it instead,so bought a holden ute with wipers in good condition.
So Prado gone, VZ ute taken its place and the rat rod is in with Rick getting some chassis mods done so I can fit the body etc.

Saturday I was out with the local 4x4 club for annual clean up of red rocks (CCVC i think) went up tip track and along the ridge line etc, awesome track as I've never been up there before. then out to bog hole to pick up shot gun wads, casings, beer bottles, jandals and old fishing nets.. oh and a truck tyre someone left in the sand by karori stream.
Has lunch and back home with truck up on axle stands and wheels off for a long over due thorough wash and clean.
Then went to watch the harbour to watch the guyfawkes!

Only 4 wheeling I did today was to drive the playdoh out of the garage to make room for a tidy up and then back in again. lol.
Did take my old intercooler setup to Welly (sold on TM)....And some bits off the Playdoh to a fellow ORE....
Picked up my winch rope which we used at Manukau... Washed it in the missus washing machine while she had her back turned... Well its in my garage so I will use it hahahhaahaha.
Man its nice and clean now ....

changed the starter motor in the landrover today its running a 3.3 commy motor thought it was going to be a half hour job but naaa not much room and had to loosen the manifold to move the exhaust out of the way a little is great how you only needed a 9/16 and 1/2 inch spanner

Um, which variety?
Was going to change the waterpump, thought might as well change the two radiator hoses. BnT and Repco don't carry them, SCA wanted $200. Called the dealer thinking it can't be much more than that, well $400 + GST. So off to my trusty dealer in US, and wait another week.

Woodhill Patrol Sat, my saf , Hilux, Jeep and Cruiser. Daihatsu joined us.
Great day - only action was the lux testing the right side needing small winch to sort.

Landslip rally in Pukerau... Great day out as usual. Pity my thinking wasn't up to scratch and muffed a few hazards.
Managed a 2nd= in Open round though, only by 10 points. and a brain fart cost me 20 points and the win!
Strangely for a change I actually fixed more items than I broke on the day too. Sorted brakes and auto faults. Popped a tyre bead in 3rd last hole, popped it back on next hole at full v8 noise!

Sutherlands Hut trip and track maintenance, with the Featherston 4 X 4 Club.
After the heavy rains lately and hearing the track into Southerlands from the coast needed repair, we headed in to see what we could do repair/assess the damage.
5 of us headed in leaving Featherston just after 9am.
The initial river crossing is where most of the damage was and after some blood sweat and 3 pick handles later we had leveled it out to a passable challenge
http://youtu.be/V1D6JT2OvJYHere we are getting ready to tackle the clay climb

We headed on up to the lookout and enjoyed 360 degree views of....cloud

Just after traversing the shingle slide we saw a bunch of adventure mountain bikers that had biked from Wellington over the Rimutakas out over the Haurangi Rd and up to where we were

damned if they weren't biking through to Palliser for the night
I prefer my 3L doing the leg work

Looking down to the Hut

We made camp just below the Hutt and settled in for the evening, where we replaced lost fluids from the work earlier in the day

On the way out in the morning we repaired the top gate where some thoughtful individuals winched the escape bars out of the ground. Here I saw bush welding in action for the first time

Got out about 1ish and headed home to pack up and clean and watch the ABs replay on poor mans Sky.
If you ever get the chance to head into this area grab it, its awesome and was one of the best trips in a long time.

Not a bad way to drain the oil too, just take off the oil filter no need to worry about the sump plug, unless his V6 has the oil filter on the other side, then epic fail
