the pipe work is not hard at all, but you will spend near on all that money on a set of latches

Plywood half doors are cheap as fawk to make

are ply wood doors approved for winch comps, could read the rules but someone here will know.

The half doors look and work better. Keeps the Blekberry out of the trousers.............tube doors/ gates cant do that.

Never bothered with tube doors. Don't tend to fall out of my rig. If ya were in a tight spot like in deep ruts, opening a door might be an arse. Even having to clamber over half doors could be annoying. No doors is my fave and preferred option.
Fabbing some like in your link would be easy and I'd locate a diffent latch. Even the stocko lift latches could be modified to work.
