didn´t do anything practical

but did some more research on my auto transmission found out they are relatively easy to adjust but you require a vacum gauge a vacum pump a pressure guage and banjo fittings to attach to the test point on the transmission

so i figure it will cost me just as much if not more to buy all the neccessary bits and pieces as it will to just take it to a mercedes specialist and get them to do it

so now i have to save my pennies got to find me a flatmate to make that a little easier

Lets see, Friday night, helped split trans from my 1KZ. Saturday took A340 & A343F trans' to be serviced and have bits swapped... then tried to get the 1KZ into my garage by hand... no chance... one hoist later all done. Nothing much else... mowed lawn, washed windows, went to Willowbank, all the normal keep the mrs & landlord happy type things...

Took Lil Pig and a few other zuks out to a local farm today, dragged Callum out with me as well, assumed he enjoyed it  Couldnt let him go home without getting the cruiser muddy though. Promised him I wouldnt tell anyone that he got towed out by a tractor about 100m from where we started
Short day as pretty much all vehicles had one issue or another, but got muddy and had fun 8)

As per my topic in the Mod's section I cut some holes in the Isuzu guard on Friday night for the snorkel.

SNORKEL PROJET LINK

Also was lucky enough to be lent a set of 33x12.5x15 tyres on cruiser rims to test on the Isuzu, looks real mean with them bolted on, now just a few rear spring changes to make and I will be able to fit a set of my own for weekend trips

Installed a new cylinder head on Dwaynes 1KZ in his surf. Took untill 2am Sunday morning untill we could start it up(with a break to milk the 270 cows). Today checked over what we had done the night before (beer goggles  ) plumbed in a few rogue vacum hoses and filled up the cooling system and ran it up to temp in the shed.

Half an hour later off for a strop down the road and a play in the wet paddocks

Seems to be ok, nothing other than a couple of leaking fittings ontop of No. 3 and 4 injectors, so once those are sorted should do another 200,000+ k's :D

I don't ever want to do that job again :x :x :x

Worked on the LR again this weekend. Wont bore you with the details except for today I planned to go into the garage about 9am and not come out till 5pm and get shit loads done, instead took old crusty out and went wakeboarding and got into the garage about 3pm and luckily enough the drive shaft off the 73 series 3 landy bolted straight up in the rear so I dont have to fabricate one up

I have a bunch of programs here is use , but when quality is not an issue the easiest program I have found to use is windows movie maker . Not too bad and its free . I only use it for video to put on net etc .

Have not downloaded mine off the camera yet but will get onto it , and post some up .

Cheers

It would be worth getting the radiator flow tested, all the diesel places recommend that after a 1KZ head has gone...

Yeah i told him that. He has had it re-cored recently, as he has had alot of drama with the radiator previously, causing it to overheat far to often and that repeated overheating will be what caused the head to go i expect.

I think the dent in his pocket will lead to a far more watchfull eye on temp gauge

might be worth checking the turbo too, the overheat caused mine to blow prematurely...

I attempted to frankinstein two roofracks into one so that I could attach rod holders, spot light holders and luggage rack, ended up looking like I had a TV aerial on the roof

I made me a internal snokel after I had it ok'ed by the compliance guy. Not as straight out as I first thought, but at least it works and sounds friggin cool when I floor it 8) I was going to have a cool looking pod filter coming out of the dash but found I didn't have the room behind the dash I first thought. As well I might need compliance as it would likely be in my crash impact zone.

well i diddnt do a lot.... pulled the rear diff out of BOSSHOGG with the intention of popping a lock right in it  .... exept it has an lsd in it ! :x ... how am i sposed to fit a locker into an lsd carrier :? :x

so i pulled my front diff out of my 40 to put in the rear of the 80's, thout to myself "ill just check the state of the bearings etc before i put it in"...yea they are shagged :x  DAMMIT !.... so now i have to find a diff in good condition that i can install a locker in and fit to the 80's

and then i went for a quick ride on sunday, just enough to remind me that my bike really is mad fun  :D

so to sum up, 2 cruisers in pieces and a dirty bike :P

ohh and i got a bug, chest infection and sore throat, sneezes etc..... dumb bugs
