Newbie TD27T owner in the USA. WD21 with Terrano Engine Swap

Hi,
What a relief it was to find this forum of tons of golden knowledge! I am one of the few in the USA with a TD27T. I did not perform the swap on this truck so I am still trying to learn a bit about the Td27 and Nissan Diesels in general. I did all the basic maintence when I aquired the truck, such as changing the oil to 10W40 Diesel Blend, Fuel Filter, and coolant flush. I am however now having an oil leak that appears to come from the passenger side, and then leaks down and drips off the oil pan. Any ideas as to what is leaking? I'm trying to figure out this annoying leak without much success at this point. I'd like to determine if this is normal blowby or a bigger issue at hand. Thank you guys! I will attach some photos.

two things to check.
Oil feed lines too and from the turbo charger.
and because the Oil Filter is such a pain in the arse to get too check it for tightness.

I'll check those when I get out of work today. Thanks for the pointers. I wonder If it could also be a double gasket on the oil filter, but from what I've read it should be pouring out a bit more oil. Pics will be posted tonight. Thanks for the quick response!

I can see one problem
http://www.flickr.com/photos/101095098@N02/10881467466/even though its the right hand side....that's the power steer line held with a hose clamp...I know it's the return line but with the oil on it i'd say that hose clamp ain't doing its job.
take some more photo's and coxsy here will do ya an online warrant of fitness
The block is dry above the oil filter on the left hand side so i'd say its a poorly fitted or the seals damaged

OK. I am blown away at the response and how awesome you guys are on this forum

. I did notice something today. There is a small hole in the silicone coupling that is near the fuel filter, it looks like it rubbed and created a tiny hole. Would it be possible to blow enough oil out said hole and dump it below on top of the oil pan? I also noticed quite a bit of oil residue on top of the pan when looking at it from under the car on the right side of the pan. ( USA Pass side ). Plausible? Any ideas? It seems that fluid on the PS return line does not appear to be PS fluid, but likely oil. I will replace that hose anyway.. Thanks guys!
No idea what year Terrano this came out of, I was told it was a near year 97+?
Many more detailed engine Pics attached below! I tried to put them in series..

After seeing the new photos it is definatley the oil filter not sealing properly.
That intake manifold is rather errr... unique. It's looks suspiciously not a TD27 either more like an early QD32. It's not from the nissan caravan or forklift as the 97 was ETI maybe from a Elgrand etc.

looking at it, to me its looks to be from a 1992 Nissan homy caravan.kre24
based on how the rocker cover vent is in the centre. and the intake manifold is different.
this td27 looks the same as yours.

I thought so to, but there is no oil pooling on the bottom of the filter? If you look at the last photo that is from under the right (passenger side usa) under the tire from the rear. It shows a bunch of oil pooling on that side on top of the oil pan?
Thoughts?

Thank you sir! I guess everyone's general consensus is the oil filter? Would a leak in the piping cause oil to pour drip out?

qd32 is a 3.2 litre diesel that came out in the later model navaras. get a bd30 exhaust manifold for a start, it flows so much better than the stock exhaust manifold.

Replaced the oil filter and the leak is still occuring; The shop said they also noticed quite a bit of oil on the passenger side. Can anyone else chime in who also had a leaky terrano or TD27T? Thanks!

give it a good clean up then run it up. On that side of the engine you have the oil pressure sender, and also the oil to water oil cooler (alloy plate bolted to block) this has 2 plugs from memory that could be leaking or it could be the gasket / o rings behind it.

Thanks Cambo. Any guidance here is much appreciated!! Is it possible it is just normal blow by? If so where does "normal blowby" come from? Thanks!
