Spare tyre choice

Post by Eddie Auckland »

Question for you clever fellows! My new (old) little Landcruiser now has a set of Silverstone Extreme directional tyres (I got a magic deal on them). I need a new spare that matches the size (33"). Do I buy a bi-directions mud-terrain tyre or do I buy another Silverstone extreme that when used, may be running in the wrong direction?

IMHO Doesn't really matter... Only there to get you out of the track and back home...
I have a a set of 5 simex's so its a 50 50 chance the correct tyre will have issues..
And my round town / easy trip tyres I have only 4... the spare is another brand / tread pattern... Its just the same size as the others give or take...

The only issue I can see is if you have a full time 4wd and different sized tyres may effect it....(road driving)

mechanical lockers aren't too fond of different sizes, and as we all know different brands of the same size tyre can measure up differently.
