Hey guys ive got a 88 Nissan safari td42
Is got some sort of fuel issue the other day it wouldn't start so I rang the aa and he took the fuel line the manual pump and pumped it for a while and no fuel came out so he put the diesel he had in it and manually pumped the fuel to the engine and it started that was two days ago now it has the same problem. I drove into town so its got a warm engine I left it for half an hour now it won't start I took the same fuel line off and pumped it and fuel came out and it still won't start. Which leaves me sitting in the middle of town writing this in my truck which won't start any ideas?

If its fuel problem Those engines have a couple of filters I suggest you change the one you can see where the AA fella was pulling hose off (and blow back towards tank to make sure supply line to filter is clear at same time)and once you have done that use a 17mm socket with exstention and undo the banjo bolt going into the top front of your injector pump. (fuel supply into injector pump) and remove it very carefully making sure you don't lose the copper washers (one under head of banjo bolt one under supply pipe) now comes the fun part I have a dentists pick tool for this you will have to make do with a tiny bit of copper wire or simala. Down inside that fitting in top of the injector pump is a tiny gauz filter much like ya nanas sawing thimble they block up with shit. clean it out and refit in reverse order then bleed air from the system.

If you are still having issues after what the others have said, it could be sucking in air...
Put a clear pipe in between the filter and the Injector pump and run her... or try.
If there are any bubbles coming thru you will need to check the pipe work from the tank thru to the pump.
Also the filter housing manual lift pump seals can go and also suck in air.

just a thought, have you check the tank to see if it have a vacum, when you take the cap off it will suck air in? is the primer soft to pump or hard?
