Ignition short?

Post by jasongreen357 »

After a bit of slightly too deep water the Landy has developed a missfire. i can hear a short when i put my head under the bonnet but cant see it? anyone got a good way to find it? (other than using my hand as a sensor).
I have already cleaned and dried the coil connections, the lead connections. and the disy. And i replaced the disy cap and rotor cause they showed signs of spark erosion, but the problem still persists. I am thinking replace the leads next?

Tried in the dark but couldn't spot it. However i did come across a good idea. Use a timing light. Place it on each lead and check for consistent pulse. eventually worked out that one lead was not working most of the time.
