R50 Terrano Intercooler

Has anyone found an easy/cheap replacement for the flimsy factory coolers that seem to crack all the time? Wondering if the skyline factory coolers are the same configuration and any better quality, they are at least in the same location, or prehaps the little front mounts off a 2000ish Rodeo. Mine is the facelift ZD30 engine (i know, 
), I presume the earlier QD32 ones use the same flimsy intercooler.
Not looking for any extra performance (other than that gained by not having an intercooler that leaks boost), just looking for replacement ideas that arent $1000 brand new intercoolers.
