Sj413 stock engine is on its last legs. But, mostly it just sucks.

Ultimately I want to swap out grand mothers sowing machine with a G16 16v fuel injected engine. If I had time, I could probably do it, but I don't.

Anyone know of a willing capable mechanic in CHCH area who could assist with this? Someone who is not going to rape me in the process.

Cheers

It will cost sh!t loads for someone to do a custom engine install, with the G16 there is the sump/oil pickup mods, fuel system mods, and the wiring, and cert too. It will probably cost more than the SJ's worth.

If you chase down an 8v 1600 vitara motor it will take 413 existing manifolds but use the 8v intake manifold and carb because of the extra fuel required.

An EFI system is simple too but you have to factor in the mucking about with wiring looms, fuel pump, ECU, etc. I think the1600 8v will take all the 1300 ancillaries without modifications from memory

Find Ben T and grab one of his kits (all bolts together - simple).

Be warned the1600 16V heads etc are not easily interchangeable with the 1600 8v (or the 1300) as the ports are different shapes (there are other differences too).
