Rainbow to Hanmer
Is anyone else waiting for it to open? Hopefully it will be soon. Im planning to do Rainbow to Hanmer and return on the Molesworth.

We are planning on heading through on the 28th. But as stated above open from boxing day, $25 per vehicle toll.

I wont go till after new years, would be good to join up with someone. its a long way to walk if i had a breakdown.

Just done that road. came down Awatere Rd to Hanmer, stayed the night there then back up through Rainbow a great trip.
A heap of rain the night we finished so rivers may have washed out some parts again by now. Looked like a lot of crossings had just been repaired when we came up Rainbow on 2nd January.
A great trip indeed. Was travelling with 4 others but saw a lot of others the roads also.
