Ok Boys and girls...
Cast yah eye over this and see if there are any issues....
High level concept....
Aim is for it to comply with ORANZ rules... for winch challenges..
Tube work is either roll cage tube or that 32 nb steam pipe stuff...(green and purple)
The red is the main tray and I want it strong enough to mount the cage on...It will be 3mm wall thickness...
Just toying with either 40x40 or 40x75 box. (or combo)
Would like something like 40x60 but its not made in that size...(that I can find)
The main hoops will be welded directly to the box....Cross braces will pass thru the box and be welded also...
The box sections will be bolted to the chassis as per ORANZ with plates etc etc..
Want to keep it simple but strong...

No b pillar ,glen has a b pillar that he welds in for oranz events ie t1000 then cuts it out for safari stuff so rear door can open ... The back stays look like they are at too much off an angel i would lower them down the main hoop . May be 250 300 mm .but realy cant see how you will get oranz to like the no b pillar.dont think im that keen to roll over in that exo .at 50 kph let aloan 140 plus kph that your truck is able to do .

yeah I was going to make up a removable B pillar one.. For hard yakka trips and winch challenges..Also tie it back along the middle of the rear door....to the main hoop...
Don't want to run in ORANZ events... just use the concepts for the cage...
Their rules seem easier to follow / understand....lol
Scale in the photo's is a bit off....So side view is a little deceptive...
Keep the comments coming....

My advice would be don't use the MANZ tube for an exo. Being only 2.6mm wall it might bend to easily when banged on trees etc. The Steam pipe is 3.8mm wall from memory. Also you will need a much more expensive bender to bend MANZ tube (my $400 bender does the steam pipe perfect but ripples the MANZ tube)
Bear in mind that exo's tend to be anchors. My b pillar dents were as a result of the exo grabbing a tree and sucking me on to it. So think carefully about body/cage clearances and out riggers etc etc.
My understanding of the (ORANZ) rules is that the roll cage must be mounted to something of an equal or greater thickness. Ie you would have to use 4mm wall RHS for your tray if you are going to use the 3.8mm wall steam pipe.
ORANZ do specify maximum spans so make sure you don't go out side these.
You rear brace angle looks okay to me, but do your measurements. From memory minimum angle is 30 degrees.

Hi there, bit off subject but who cut down your truck? I want to do my safari and am capable of cutting it and building the tray etc but unsure about how to put in the rear wall. I'm located in Auckland if you know any one capable of doing it? Any info would be much appreciated cheers

x2 on NOT using MANZ cage tubing for an exo, I did, and it bends and dents like toilet roll tube

lol
Use something with descent wall thickness... unless you're going for light weight, in which case use chromoly
