Hi Everyone,
I am from Marton and I have a 1999 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 Diesel 5 Speed Manual.
It has done over 266,000kms now and I have owned it since it had done 120,000kms.
It is quite modified now and I have just done an SLS to Spring conversion using 40mm Old Man Emu HD Springs and Nitro Charger Sport Shocks, plus Tom Wood Double Cardon front Prop Shaft. Had it back a week now and I haven't noticed much difference really in ride comfort. But drive line is much smoother, did the rear rotoflex as well.
Before the Land Rover I had probably 20 new Diesel Patrols, Two Vitaras, Several Pathfinders, One Land Cruiser 4 Cylinder Diesel, Several Volvo XC90's, 20 odd XC70's, 7 Discovery 3's, 2 Range Rover Sports and 3 2008/9 Range Rovers.
You can probably guess by now I was a Dealer Principal, I was in the motor industry for over 40 years.
I have been on many 4wd drive experiences with Nissan and Land Rover in New Zealand and Overseas and I must say that Land Rover blew me away. The technology and off road ability of the product they are building now since Ford got involved and then Tata gave them the funding they so desperately needed is mind blowing.
I have also done the same thing with other Franchises like Jaguar, HSV, Nissan, Volvo etc. all over the world. I have been lucky. :)
