2.4 hilux struggles to get to a 100k

have just picked up a 2.4 hilux and put some 32s on it its only just doing 105 max on a nice bit of flat road is runng 4.556 diffs whats other peoples 2.4s gone like i no they arnt a power horse but would think itl go bit better than that

My ln61 with31s would easily do 100ks.

Is your speedo correct?

I had a bunch of boost leaks and a dirty air filter and after sorting those it went well.

yea speedo sits on 90 at a 100 going to pull air filter out tomorrow just to make sure it not that doesnt look that dirty could tired injectors/pump corse this it always starts and runs fine uses no oil or water

My 2L does 120 on the flat no wind on 31's, but that's all its got

2l yea with a head wind it sits on 90ish

my 2.4 was maxed out at 105, they are slow.

there easy to turbo another cheap option to get bit more snot out of it

I had the same 2.4 non turbo almost got over taken by a campervan in a head wind one day, thats when i decided to go with another engine. Long story short now has a 1KZ in it, goes like a dream.

yea am going to look into dropping something else in it in the next few months 2.4 goes bloody good just a bit slow got a few other bits to do to it 1st

if your close to chch iv got a friend with crashed 130 surf 1kz manual ud get whole truck for 2500 that's pretty cheap for every lil part youl need

Thats a good deal thats what i did had whole truck took engine gearbox transfer dash and seats and sold the rest.

just biff a 2l-t kit on it. Cheap as chips and if you do the exhaust and intercool it it will go like stink. mate has done it and it walks all over my 1kz work wagon.
