Sourcing engine to mate SJ413 box

Post by 3VILC »

Ok so plenty of info around on fitting G16 variants etc, bit which models can be made to fit and what donor vehicles can be used besides the obvious vitara/escudo? Are the fwd variants including the G13B from early swifts/cultus usable? For off-road only so the obvious different location of the dizzy and intake can be made to work, bit do they bolt to the same box and have the rwd mount holes? And does the g13b still require Ben's adapter to fit the g13a bellhousing? Just throwing ideas at the moment. As cheap as possible so even a carby g16 would be considered, Amy engine wheels better than no engine :)

All G13 motors will bolt to a SJ413/Samurai gearbox and the standard engine mounts (the bits that bolt onto motor). The sump and oil pickup will have to be off an SJ G13 though, but they swap straight over. The twin cam G13B motors are real screamers, UBZ put one in his SJ so pm him for info on the swap.
