warn 24v winch to 12v?

Post by Trench_rat »

I picked up a warn winch for cheap the other day and was told it was 12v as per the sticker on it , after not being able to get the motor to turn i googled the part number to find it is 24v (MRJ-2-056) in wondering wether or not i can just swap a 12v motor onto it? the relays click when hooked up to my navara but motor wont turn.

Throw up a photo...
If its only 4500 lbs.. Its not going to be upto the task for a full size 4x4...
And is probably still a bit small for a Suzuki sized truck..

personally throw the thing away and have a word to mike and get the runva 9500pd winch. they were $700-800. you will spend that on that old thing and still be no better off..

imho

not going to help your issue with the current one but Supercheap auto have a 9500lb winch for $419, comes with everything you need. then maybe down the track you can mount the small one on the back for small rear recoveries. Anyway from what ive heard the supercheap ones seem pretty good for the price

Ive heard mixed things about the supercheap ones. I think i will try find a 12v motor first.
