escudo tyres, rim offset and body lift etc

hey guys i have a escudo 4door just wanting to put some muddys on it with a 2" suspension lift. But im unsure of tyre sizes that i will require. if i put 31" tyres on it will i need to give it a body lift also? and if so with the 2" suspension lift and 50mm body lift will i have to alter the steering rack or brake lines? and one more thing what are the offsets that i will require for the steels? any help would be much appreciated! cheers fellas.

With a 2" lift u can go for 30/9.5/15's with just enugh clearance to fit 31's u will need a body lift and modify the body and gards at the back front wheels to clear and.trim the bumper

awesome! thankyou. if you do a 2" lift and a 2" body lift will the brake lines and steering column need to be altered?

At 2" body lift, I would think the brake lines need some adjustment. But it is very easy to do and I would not let having to do this put you off installing the body lift. At the front, you don't have to extend the brake lines, you can instead lower the location the brake line comes through the inner guard to the passenger side front suspension arm - ie drill a new hole through the sheet metal, reconnect the brake line through that lower hole and bleed the brakes.

At the rear, it is the handbrake cables that can give you some grief. Replace 3dr ones with 5dr. If you already have a 5dr, get used to tightening the handbrake up at WoF time or have new handbrake cables made up.

I am pretty sure the steering shaft is fine at 2" body lift - we had steering shaft spacers installed for 2.5" body lift, but didn't need them anymore when we replaced the steering shaft with the upgrade to power steering.

What width rims are you going to? 7"? 8"?

2+2 is a good option. Gets expensive and complicated quick going bigger.

Agree with Pico, won't need steering spacers for 2" body. I'd run it with just springs and shocks before changing diff drop brackets, and adding rear driveline spacer. You will need camber bolts for the front struts. Hammer the inside seam down on the back of the front wheel arches.

You should consider the Hagen widening mod early as that will give more front clearance.
