Reasonable priced sheet metal place in chch?

Post by Heath »

Any one recommend a sheet metal place in Chch that I can get some small jobs done in for a reasonable price?

Floor pans and some other bits requiring folding needed.

Try priest sheet metal on barbour street. Sam is the guy to talk to. Will depend how busy they are and how simple it is. The metal will be cheap enough but labour will cost what it costs. Small jobs can be a prick for places like that. There is just no money in it for them and generally they are a hassel. Best bet is to go in with an accurate cardboad template

Want some long folds and two 1M squares and some little folds too (will be about 1 full sheet worth for 10 pieces and some scraps for my rust patching).

5 lots of 2 each. If I had access to my old workshop in Auckland I could bang them out in about two hours, but nothing here I can use so I have to pay.

All good though. Will have a drive around tomorrow morning. Cant do shadies now as we have GPS monitoring in our trucks :? .

I think Pete from Pete's Customs suggested them too. will pop in for a chat with my plans.

How much should I expect to pay per hour on average?

Could'nt get a park at Coombes (work truck is too big - and visible - LOL).

Double parked outside Jackson's and dropped off my plans. They rang back later and could do what I wanted for about the price I was happy with.

We'll see how it goes.

Now I just have to find a few tools for sorting the lap joints around the floor. :?
