Galvanising Hard top
Galvanising Hard top
Hi guys, has anyone galvanized any of their panels before? I am going to fit my new tigertop to my Fj in the summer months to allow me to restore my hard top and doors etc. I thought if i got the lot acid dipped and galvanized it would be a pretty good insurance policy, especially to treat the steel that i could not get to with paint. I have heard that you can just prime and paint over the galv, is this true?

if you get it acid dipped they usually put a rust preventive
coating on the panel as well (dipped aswell so it gets to internals)
then do your repairs etc and paint then buy a cavity wax from repco or supercheap and spray all the insides for extra protection....
hope this helps....
