Prado wheel sizing

Post by mark.james0502 »

Hi guys. Currently have a standard 1996 prado 90 series. Wanted to put something more chunky on the wheels. Been doing some research and I think the 15 or 16 by 10 would fit as long as it has a 20 offset.
Has anyone got one with muddies on it or know they best wheels and tyres to go for.

Cheers

Dunno whether this will help you but I'm not sure 15" wheels will fit due to the calipers rubbing?

Someone may know better...

Correct,16s are smallest rims due to callipers rubbing. You should have no worries going to 265 75 16. Would suggest anything from maxxis buckshots or bighorns, or if budget allows cooper stt.

I too cannot be certain but 10" rim with 20 offset might rub on the inside, usually 10" runs have -40 offset for this reason but then you are going to have them sticking out past your guards. It may also be impractical to run a narrow tire on such a wide rim. If it's looks you are after it might work otherwise try an 8" rim, I'm sure there are plenty guys running 8s on their prados

275 70 16's will fit as should 265 75 16's (I know this is true for A/T's)

With penta chains on the 275's just work, but anything else the inner wall of the tyre rubs the top/side of the suspension spring.
