SU carb gurus

So I've just brought an engine for the SJ413 that's been converted to an SU HIF44. Problem is due to lack of damper oil the piston is seized solid so it's not even rebuildable. Do I get another SU? Can get a brand new pair of HIF6s for 250 (anyone wanna go halves haha). Or do I try and find a standard carb that's likely stuffed and needs a rebuild anyway?
Comments/ideas? There's not much budget left so efi is currently not an option.
