I cant see how whats the computer for we must ask

was the computer box at buggered
hows does the trans run with out the computer
update now trans stuck in second with or with out computer is the trans stuffed or is is the speed sencer ontop of the trans

I will bite. The TCU is there to simply tell the transmission the best time to change gear according to pre programmed parameters from factory.

Or you unplugged the wrong box....

I was told the trans control was in the area where I removed but good point

and as for ya update there phil' it is now in limp mode you will have second and reverse till you plug the box back in. then you'll most probably have to reset the errors as the TCU will be awaiting on signals it ain't getting.

The easiest way to do that is put every thing back how you found it, then disconnect the battery and with the key in the on position stand on the brake pedal for a minute or so or leave an interior light for an hour, this will drain any residual power from the computer/s and it will use it's presets when the power comes back on....


This goes for any nissan too

I found another computer
have crc both will do as told put it all back and do as you said

still stays in limp mode the truck used to do this from time to time I would stop put into park and start again then it was ok now its in limp mode what ever I do how can I tell if its the trans itself
the computer that controls it or the speed sensor ontop of the trans

only other thing I did before this happened was put in new diff
ok the facts are it would now and then stick in second I would put in park and restart then it would be ok
I changed the diff last week truck was running ok then stuck in second I removed rr compter box that I take to control the trans
then the truck for an hour changed gears ok
then stuck in second
I removed rlr compter box
still stuck in second
I replaced all computer boards
and disconnected battery
then re connect still stuck in second
it it the trans the sensor on top of gearbox or the trans computer

Are you sure its the trans causing it to go into limp mode?
Limp mode is there for a number of reasons.
Have you checked the oil levels in everything?

The trans is fine,owners in limp mode.
