hilux surf diff seal

hi guys
Just replaced the inner rear diff seal on a 1989 hilux surf right side due to leaking cleaned everything up really well got an aftermarket seal and its started leaking again exactly how it was before I replaced it anybody got any ideas what could be wrong??

Usually the seals leak because the bearing is buggered, jack it up and try to wiggle the wheel side to side if you can feel any play the bearing needs to be replaced. Could also be a bent housing but try the bearing first. Also are you sure it is diff oil? Not a leaky wheel cylinder?

Thanks for that will go try it now um deffinatlely is diff oil I replaced wheel cylinders both sides and all new pads at same time thanks for your help :)

check the axle where the seal meets as if there are rubbing groves or pits then it will chew out the new seal

If you end up replacing the bearing make sure you don't use GAS to remove the old seal collar , if you do you risk over heating the axle & making it brittle & the axle failing & you loosing a wheel.... been there done that ... .not pleasant experience.

couldn't be botherd trying again so sent it to mechanic turns out thw wheel bearing was well stuffed
