Smoking 1hdt

My 80 series is smoking quite a bit at start up and under acceleration. Smoke looks to be greyish, and its letting off a strong diesel smell. Does not seem to be using oil. It IS leaking a small amount of oil though. Cheers.

Unburnt diesel, lots of diesels engines do it, if its black it is getting a bit excessive.

Sounds like you need to get your injectors serviced

Or blocked air filter, thats where i would start, have you just brought the truck or has it just been getting worse? lost any power? black smoke usually means over fueling make sure someone hasnt uped the boost and tweked the pump then sold it to you back at std boost without changing the pump again. does it smoke on boost or just off it? Most knowledgeable person closest to you would be Nathan @ Kaipoi Repowers he knows his diesels well.
