new toy

Post by 85bj71 »

I seen this advertised locally quite cheap so i went to have a look out of curiosity and it was set up alot better than I expected so i couldnt refuse to make an offer and he accepted. . . :D

1984 bj42
3b turbo with intercooler and big short exhaust
5 speed manual
pto winch
2 momo race seats and harnesses
coil sprung 70 series axles?
disc brakes all round
power steering
air box and snorkel mounted at rear
roll rage that doubles as a compressor tank
compressor

It drives allgood apart from the stuffed unbalanced tyres, everything seems sound, needs a new caliper for the back, I intend to get a warrant on this as it is all certified with the rego on hold, can anyone see anything obvious that would stop this? is there requirements regarding the doors with how simple they latch shut?? do i need a front bumper/bar rather than the winch just sticking out? can anyone identify the diffs ? as i need a replacement caliper, can anyone identify the broken tail light?

cheers

Looks like a fun toy.

Tail light looks like the standard factory one. Not sure on the legality of the doors but I have heard of people removing them completely for a wof then putting them back on afterwards. Can't really help with anything else.

An easy retro fit is a set of submersible LED trailer lights. Supercheapauto sell them in pairs, you will to upgrade the flasher unit to allow for the lower current draw. I can't recall the flasher unit I used...

Thus website will be useful for you in terms of warrant requirements etc
