Suzuki Escudo mods
Suzuki Escudo mods
Hello, new to this site and have dabbled in a bit of 4x4 but nothing too serious. Recently got a 3 door Suzuki Escudo that needs plenty of TLC. Bought this as a cheap and rough "bush wagon" mainly to get to favourite hunting spots. Was wondering if I could get some advice as to the best lift mods I can do to improve ground clearance. As I say the little suzuki will just be to get us to some interesting spots so I'm not looking to turn it into a competition vehicle but just a capable 4x4. I need to keep it road legal and would prefer to start with a lift that won't need a cert. It currently has 30 x 9.5 tyres and ground clearance is just 250mm to the chassis rails. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

30" tyres with no lift yet? Must get a bit of rubbing.
Have a look at the cheap Vitara lift thread in the suzuki section.

Re: Suzuki Escudo mods
maybe I need to have a better look but I couldn't see that any lift work had been done, definitely no where near rubbing tyres on body and tyres definitely 30x9.5. I will have a better crawl around and check. Ground clearance not too bad for what I need for the moment but I will need to add bash plates. Tried it out on some pretty interesting terrain today and was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the feedback.
Re: Suzuki Escudo mods
Cheap vitara lift & weemsys escudo build both show what can be done on a budget using springs & shocks from the local wreckers.
Don't go too high on the front end as cvs and the ally diff housing start to sh1t themselves regularly.
31" tyres is the biggest you would want to run or it will be too high geared and I doubt the axles would take it.
A 1 or 2" suspension lift and keep your 30" tyres and it will go a hell of a lot of places and surprise a lot of bigger trucks. And you won't need cert.

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Well technically you would need a cert due to tyre size increase.
