Prado KZJ78: 33s & headlight washer?

Hi all, just bought a 1994 Prado KZJ78 to replace the FJ70 L/cruiser.
Does anyone know if 33x12.5s will fit under it without mods? Will these require certification?
Also, it seems to have headlight washers - but damned if I can find the button to make them work...anyone know where this might be??
Cheers Rowan

From memory, you need to have the light's on, then push the window washer knob.

Mine look like they are there, reservoir and hoses are there, but no pump....

From my research you can get away with 33's without a lift, ask kaney he has same truck with 33's see if you can borrow his for 10 minutes. you'd need to lengthen the bump stops. Not sure if 12.5's would fit though.

you can borrow my 33s some time if you want. as far as i know you can fit 33s on with out any mods ( but they may rub a bit on full articulation). but you are welcom to try them. just give me a txt/ring sometime

On my 1994 you need lights on then press the window washer button twice fast.
should work
31 fit on it sweet. and 33 do with a 50mm lift.

Thanks for the replies guys. The headlight washers work just fine...
Also I asked the tyre question to find if anyone knew any major issues, before I tried my 33x12.5s on the truck (kept in garage for offroad use - rare recently). They seem to fit under fine, but rear of front tyre rubs on suspension arm when on full lock. The wheel track remains the same as with 31x10.5s. I tried articulation on a local pile of dirt, and got no rub before the stops hit and it lifted a wheel.
I'd be keen to have a look at a couple of you guys trucks if/when it might suit.

whicharm was is rubbing on? if it was the castor arm then you just need a different set of rims to allow for this. what is the offset of the current rims? mine had the same problem.

I have the same model. 33x12.5 fit without lift. (Wrangler M/T)

NOTE: Most tyres aren't the same size as stated on sidewalls.
My 32x10.5 Simex tyres are larger in dia then the 33x12.5 M/T Wanglers.

But I put the lift in after the tyres anyway.

Mine hit the suspension arm as well. There is a adjustable stop you can adjust to stop the rubbing.. You can miss it.

And the boys are correct. You need the headlight on for the headlight washers to work. They work off the same switch as the screen washer.

My sumitomo serengeti 33x12.5 (actual 32") on steel 15"rims fit with only minor rubbing on the top rim of the wheel well on big bumps, but the springs are pretty tired. lift on its way to sort that out.

Cheers
