Hilux surf 1996 1kz-te shaking

It drives fine up to 80kmph and there is small shake in the truck.
Have done the wheel balancing for all 4 tyres.

Shown in to two different mechanics , one was saying lower arm bush and steering rack, which I doubt as there is no shake in steering.

Other one suggested drive shaft and U joint .

Any suggestion and also please suggest any good mechanic in South Auckland
area.

yeah mate could be a number of things including the above its all process of elimination to track it down

its not hard to whip the D/S out and go for a strop down the road in 4wd to see if that's whats causing the vibration/shake


as far as a recommended mechanic personaly I'd be taking it to somewhere that deals in 4x4's and off road stuff rather than the shop down the road that does oil changes on toyota corollas there will be a better chance they know what your on about and where to go looking to diagnose and fix it

Is your truck auto? Had a similar problem for months checked wheel bearings, drive shaft and suspension. Turns out it was early signs of my auto trans packing up.
