Safari - Factory Electric Winch

Post by Tentman »

Hello guys

There is a "Safari factory bullbar and electric winch" on TM at the moment that someone who indicates that they are building a comp truck is selling. See http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =720353984

I've asked a couple of questions but I'm not about to lay down 900 or more notes on the quality of the answers so far ( so if its your listing I'd love to hear from you).

I'd like to know if this sort of setup reduces the approach angle to any significant degree, and are parts readily available - any thoughts folks?

Thanks

you'd be better buying a full bar than that, they have better protection and approach angles, factory cradles are way out front of the truck, also that still has factory front bumpers with get pushed back into your tyres which
isa pain

This is actually my mates.... It will reduce your approach angle a bit, but his old truck had a arb that stuck out just as much.

If im correct i maybe wrong but think the factory winchs are a warn...?

Hmmmm - 8000 isn't that much to haul a fat old Safari out if its fully bogged and I set my truck up for a high winch mount as I really value approach anghle for crawling up Canterbury riverbeds but hadn't gotten round to buying the winch . . . so Kiwi Terrano if you see your cobber could You please pass onto him "thanks but no thanks".

Cheers

Or mod the current frame to sit back further or higher or just put winch in your own bullbar so it wont affect his approach angles
