Hi all Paul here, I've just got my first 4x4 a 1996 LWB Nissan Safari and i'm looking at lifting it 50mm and putting a set of coopers 285/75x16 ST Maxx tyres on her.
Im based in Huntly so Hamilton and Auckland are in range, any ideas on what sort of suspension I should be using and where to get the work done?

personally do not body lift it the tyres will fit you may have to remove front mudflaps if you gonna lift do it on suspension or coil spacers

Sorry showing how much of a newbie I am,
I am looking at a suspension lift of 50mm not a body lift.

We do dobi springs for $500 for a set of 4 , 2 degree whiteline bushes for $250 and Amada extreme shocks for $560 a set of 4 ,
We also stock tough dogs for $860 a full set and 9 stage adjustables for 1100 Any more than a 2" in a safari you will need to extend the rear lower arms , use gearbox spacers , extended brake hose kits and adjustable panhard rods , also brake proportioning valve will require and extended braket , any more than 2" lift also requires a Low volume cert which can be costly ,

I run the 2inch lift dobi HD springs and kyb shocks. The springs are quite stiff but I carry quite a bit of weight so it suits me fine. Make sure you get the right spring rate for your needs, some springs are very stiff and dont give a nice ride. You are more than welcome to come have a look if you up in auckland sometime. Heaps of info on here using the serch button, lots of different springs tried and tested by the guys on here.... And welcome aboard

Contact Phil at Force 4 for EFS shocks & springs, shocks will be much better than Munroes.

I would fit lift first before worrying about castor correction bushes, you may not need them.

Fit shocks & springs yourself, easy to do should take you less than 6 hours to do.

I run dobi springs in my lab safari. They 2in lift heavy duty ones and they work really well. Still flex well empty but truck still handles well when loaded up. I only paid $207 a pair through bnt and it only took an hour to put them in. And that's using a jack and axle stands. With a hoist it's wayyyyyy faster
Pays to shop around.
Make sure you spend the extra coin and get rubber bushes when replacing them as the poly ones do not last when 4wding.
Btw 6hrs for a workshop to replace springs/shock/bushes does seem a lot. And with a 2in lift castor correction isn't a must and they (the bushes)do affect front articulation which isn't flash at the best of times in these trucks

Thanks a lot mate I contacted Phil and he gave me a sharp price so have gone with the EFS shocks and springs, appreciate the help!!!!!!
I can't wait to get them in just waiting on the steering damper shock then ill be into it!

brake proportioning valve will require and extended braket ,
mine with 3" lift didn't need a extended bracket, just valve adjustment ,stops like standard

If you get castor bushes, I would also recommend getting rubber. Cheap on ebay, and I have found they last a lot longer IMO
