Hey guys,
Recently picked up an AS-450 winch from a mate for a good price.
What do I require to fit this to my 1998 LN106 Hilux?

Yeah I figured as much. Was wondering if anyone had done this though? I'm pretty sure it has the original surf winch mounting plate with it. I'll post some pictures tonight.

1500 kg. Considering the Hilus has a vin plate weight of like 900kg. It should be plenty for most things.

Do you think it will just bolt on? I have to pick it up in a couple of weeks. Then we'll see if it is a case of bolting on.

With the use of a drill it may bolt on
Still you started with what do i use? Then precede to say it come with the complete mounting bracket!
Imho i would use that and react if things are completely differant.
But a chassis is a chassis and both made of steel

Can assure you that your truck weighs way more than that. Then add the stuck factor and you'll find that winch is a bit light. But it will help.
Just be prepared to double/triple purchase with it.
I'd take off the bumper etc from your truck and try and fit it as is. Then just adapt it as needed to be able to bolt on. Make sure you use ht bolts when fitting. You probably find it's just a case of drilling a couple of holes to get it to fit.

Pretty sure that plate that the winch mounts to is fitted onto a nudge bar type thing like in the pic mudlva posted, a mate has one lying around (nudge bar bit)

the 900kg tag your looking at will probably be the load carrying capacity the truck will weigh around 1500kg
