Got back yesterday from spending 3 days up the Rangatika and the Havelock, went in on Tuesday and based ourselves out of The Growler hut and then did a day trip up to Mistake Flat hut. First time I have been up one of the big Canterbury rivers, we had a great time Think we will be going back a few of us would have liked to have gone further up.
Managed to add a two new dents one to the front of the winch cradle and then fell of a rock and slightly squished the passengers rear quarter panel, looks like the rear quarter panel chop I have been thinking about is getting closer

and am kicking myself for not getting around to making up the rear bar work after my wee woops down the coast that resulted in a large insurance claim
Still I feared better than one of the landcrusiers who had a king pin come out

luckily we were able to retrieve enough bits for him to limp out
Spent today cleaning the Safari up and then got keen and gave it a full cut and polish

I ad forgotten just how much panel there is in a LWB Safari

finished welding the floor in on the 45. Well intended to but almost out of gas, but I'm almost finished so we'll see tomorrow night when it runs out...
Will need a little attention with a grinder though.

After going through a salt water stream last weekend in Tepora I decided to rust treat the safari. 4 cans of fish oil later and all done.
Got bored and decided nows a good time to order some new tyres. Got a set of 33s maxis bighorn 764s on the way. Also wof's coming up next month and near bald tyres won't pass.
