Front shock damage

Post by Wolf »

Hey guys I got a Ln65 Hilux. 3 inch shocks with 2 inch body lift on leafs and when I'm in full lock right I think it's the control arm? Unsure exactly but it pushes against the drivers side shock only just noticed this and it's too late since the shock now has been dented.

What is the solution to fix this and will a dented shock fail me on cert?

I think its caused by the larger bore shocks and the suspension lift, it should get slightly worse when you flex with compression on the drivers side?

Possible solutions are:
-Smaller bore shocks my old man emu ones are fine but im only around a 2 inch lift, what's the o.d of the bit on the shock that rubs? i could measure against mine if you like
-Ditch the standard steering and do the high steer conversion but that's mighty expensive but the ultimate fix to the average stock steering
-Or as mentioned above limit the steering some more but they have a crappy enough turning circle already.

Okay thanks.

I don't think I'll get smaller bore shocks as I'd have to replace all 4 to match that could be expensive? (I think).

High steer conversion would be great how expensive we talking there?

I don't mind doing 100 point turns lol. As long as the problem get's fixed. Otherwise I'll be doing no turning. :P

Thanks, guys.
