ratteling noise in 3rd & 4th gear

Hi.
I recently got a 2007 Jimny and the last month or so it has developed a rattle in 3rd and 4th gear. The sound definitely seems to come from the gearbox. Am I looking at new bearings ?

to my knowledge its not uncommon for those things to go through gearboxes
