Looking at buying a caldina wagon just as a work hack. Its a 4wd manual.
Bloody tidy and cheap, only issue is heater doesn't blow hot.
Where would I start to track n trace the system to trouble shoot it?
Any pointers would be nice before I make the deal.

trouble shooting heater system
Re: trouble shooting heater system
There is usually a valve on the fire wall which circulates the hot water from the engine to the heater unit. Check to see if it moves freely or is even connected. Other issue could be its been bypassed if it was leaking...

I've had similar issues to a 323 the mrs bought.
Check for thermostat in the cooling system.
Hers didn't have one in it so it idled up to temp fine when stationary but as soon as you started driving she went cold air on ya.
Otherwise check for bleed valve or a blocked heater core on both air and coolant side.
Check youtube for plenty of how to's.

Re: trouble shooting heater system
Check under the dash kick panels there may be a heater sensor which may be unplugged / faulty

Re: trouble shooting heater system
Caldinas have problems with the heater controllers. They can be repaired.
