hilux gearbox onto a V6 vitara?

hi all this is a bit of a shot in the dark here, but would anyone know if its possible to attach a gearbox from another vehicle to the back of a H20a v6 from a vitara?
I have had the car for about 2 monthes and find the gearbox rubbish compared to hilux's that i have owned in the past.
any advice would be great, i can bolt things together and am moderately mechanically minded but down have the facilities to do maad customising.
