Hi guys,
I took my Peugeot into a local garage in September last year to have the clutch replaced. A few days later, the clutch suddenly stopped working. Towed it back in and they told me the clutch had disintegrated, and they replaced it free of charge.
Got it back with damage to the gearbox so I had to go to a proper Peugeot garage and replace the gearbox, but thats another story.
Anyway, 8 months and 8000kms later and the clutch has just done the same thing. Another disintegration. This is not a racing car, its just my car that I drive my family around in. I dont do any burnouts or anything stupid. I drive it the same as every other car I've ever owned and have never had this.
Whats your thoughts on where to go from here? Should I have to pay for this? Its getting ridiculous.
On another note, just bought a 1988 Suzuki Vitara, what a beast!

Re: Clutches & Consumer Guarantees Act?
yeah, that's not good, i lunched a clutch plate on the second gear change from the workshop that did it, fell out in 7 pieces, but the next one was fine even dumping the clutch to make sure it wasn't going to do the same.
usually if it fails like that a brand change usually clears that issue

Not necessarily the dealer but a mechanic that understands the manufacturer. Sometimes even the dealers are not that competent.
