I've done a fair amount of damage to the whole passengers side of my d21 terrano including pillars. It's v6 manual
My options I've come to so far are
New terrano body
Navara body if it fits???!!
Sell to a wrecker

The navara body is most appealing to me but how simple is it to swap?

Double cab wont fit

single cab is a straight swap thou.

Navara is getting more appealing by the second, Is there any difference between diesel and petrol engine bays?? Also will an auto body work with my manual?

I wouldn't imagine any difference, sometimes other than the dash obviously an auto would have the PNRD21 but would still work. You would need the petrol instrument cluster for the tacho to work I think but then likely easiest to just swap in you existing dash and wiring since you have the whole original body there to raid bits from

Reading this has made me decide that the navara body is the way to go, anyone in the welly to palmy area got a rust free one lying around?

I used a petrol cab and swapped everything into it, right down to the pedals and steering column. They do bolt straight on, the only major difference is the hand brake setup. It required cutting a small hole in the floor to route the cable and making a bracket to support the ends of the cables under the deck.

So other than the hand brake it's all the same? Is there any wiring that I need to be aware of that the terrano has that isn't in the engine bay/dash?

I put the whole wiring harness from the terrano into the navara cab.

As far as I can tell the floor pan and firewall are identical and they just add or remove bolt on covers for different accessories. All fixing points are the same.

This may seem a rookie question, is there any difference between the 2wd and 4wd body's?

Another option I've come to, cut the back off it, make a cage for it and turn it into a bush truck

Yeah I put in a 2wd Nav. handbrake when I did my porno bench seat swap, as can be seen in photo. Plug and play, just removed the firewall cover plate and used the 2wd cables etc. Even the Terrano dash had a little plastic cut out all ready for it.
