Recommendations around Mackenzie Basin Area & Central Otago

Post by Wild_South »

Hi guys,

With my recently set up truck now ready to go I am interested in heading down south on a few trips.

I would love to go on a trip that has a bit of history - such as old gold mining relics, memorials, etc etc.

What good tracks are down Omarama way, or over the other side around Naseby?

Cheers
Scott

Nevis Road, Skippers, Macetown all easy enough
If you grab the SpotX Offroading New Zealand book out the library it has a few in that area.

Also books by Andy Cockroft and also Ken Sibly and Mark Wilson, a little older but still ok.

Also give the Otago 4wd clubs and Queenstown 4wd clubs a shout and see if they can suggest anything or if you can join up with them, list of those in the NZ4WD Magazine and on their website.
