Welcome.

I assume you have found the Marlborough Club's website? And Facebook page?

As part of the joining process you have to attend a training day and then 3 trips. At the training day your truck will get checked for the minimum safety gear etc.

Wide range of members from hard core winch challenge guys to super shiny trucks..

Enjoy, look forward to seeing you out there.

go talk to the Malborough 4WD club mate a lot of clubs have their own specific requirements and rules about recovery points and how they are attached and secured might as well do it once and do it right if your going to join their club :D

Shoot out to Springcreek Engineering and have a chat to Pete, he's the man to talk to about hook mounting.

Yeah, Pete at Spring Creek Engineering is the Club safety officer, so it will be him who has sign off.

Another good contact is Craig at Craig's 4wd, he can help you out or mount them for you.

Mt Patriarch is a great drive tho there can be snow and ice up there this time of year so would recommend taking 2 vehicles once up the top you will get nice veiws down to Lake Challice which you can walk down to the hut. but its a good drive no huts to drive to though.

Some good options up the Branch or Leatham valleys too. Very good DOC huts and you can drive to the door... There's a club training day next Sunday (8 July) if you're free. PM me if interested...

I may be a bit "challenged" around dates - but at least my truck gets used!

As much as I would actually love to go. The budget is tight atm and im still paying back my parents after the truck sprung a leek on queens birthday weekend. So I will have to try get to the next one. Hopefully with a bit of spare change too.
