Looks good. No personal experience, but would love to have a dual UHF/AM radio. Only down side is its only 40ch UHF, most new ones are 80ch. probably wont be much of an issue for the next few years but not "futureproof"... I have only been on one trip that the selected channel was higher than 40, and we just asked to use a different channel as some of the "oldies" didnt have the 80ch radios.

I've had this unit for about 6 years its a good unit if you want AM cb as well (I'm a truckie) as mentioned its only 40 and I don't think the channel spacing is right to allow you to program the newer channels in tho I havnt tried. It does however currently program police/fire repeaters etc until they all change to digital encryption.

Was discontinued not long after I brought mine. I believe there is still a dual band one available but doesn't have the programmable scanner function. Mine cost 410 not including aerials etc. I also like it because it allows scanning across both bands simultaneously, for example on highway mine is set to scan across AM ch11 and UHF 41-43 (where I have the police/channels stored), with AM 11 set as the priority interrupt channel so always receives on this channel even if currently busy on another. Do not confuse with the newer 80ch units tho, on this one 40-80 are just programmable receive only channels.
