Hi guys - Friends injector pump (1KZTE Surf) is losing fuel from the speed sensor on top of the i/p.

I have a three...no... four part question.

Can the speed sensor o-ring be replaced without removing the entire i/p?
Where to purchase a new o-ring/cover plate gasket?
Any tips to avoid destroying the speed sensor? I have a 32mm deep socket

Also Do these engines self bleed?

Many shanks

I got the answer to my questions from Diesel & Turbo in Petone Wellington.

I got official proper Denso seals,

Denso Parts are K146600-4400 (Top Plate Cover gasket), Viton O-Ring dimensions 20.8 x 2.4

Older experienced diesel technician showed me the prescribed method to prevent damaging the sensor with a pump he had on the bench.

Prescribed method is to give the 32mm nut a gentle punch, gently hold a 10mm wrench on the white plastic connecter, then gently release the 32mm nut with a ring spanner.

Thanks good info. Did you get the seal through toyota or diesel & turbo? What was the cost?
