Help with leaking half doors

Post by Tonkatoy. »

Hi Everyone. I am having trouble with my Canvas / Glass uppers in my Half doors leaking. It looks like the water is getting inside the door somehow as when I shut the doors water gushes in from the holes where the post's come out of to go into the Door.

I have no rips or anything & am wondering would it be coming in from the channel when the sliding glass windows open or is it just coming through the canvas and I just need to re waterproof it.

Any thoughts as I am sick of getting wetter in my jeep than when I am on my Motorbike & my carpets are not happy :?: :?

The water is coming in from the Canvas uppers not the steel half doors?

How are your door surrounds at the top? If the top part of the door is not sitting properly, water will track down.

Yeah I thought that too but the top is sealing fine & the inside of the top is dry. The only water seams to come out of the holes on the inside. I could post a picture if it would help.
I wondered if it was coming in the window channel but that seems to be a sealed unit draining back outside.

A picture would help. I don't have soft doors or half doors. Can't imagine in my head late on Friday.

OK I have stolen this one of Google as it shows things better than my black ones.

The water comes in from where the steel prongs come out of the Canvas so this tells me that the water is getting in between the two layers of canvas some how.

Get it dry. Then use a garden hose to spray water and see which area it's coming in from. Have someone sit inside and watch.
