hmm centre mount pto.... know of another vehicle that might be getting one of those soon....
and I see hes running the 12.5" wide (assume thats the size with the 3 row centre block) Simexs, I thought those that tried them found they clogged with mud too easy?? rather than the 10.5 that only had 2 row centre lug??.
Apart from that, very unique and looks very
Has the lexus been supercharged yet??

To get the height of the 36's they have the triple lugs in the middle. I think a few of them don't like them as much for the reasons you mentioned.

very
must admit though if i had a centre mount winch i would have it set up to pull in both directions run it up th e front and then to the back it gives you double line pull up front but does mean you pull at half the speed

If you ran it round a pulley in the back bumper, and to the front, it would be 1:1, but pulling from the back, you'd have to use a snatchblock giving 2:1 (I think)

yeah that is correct but i would rather have double line pull at the front the theory being when you are pulling forwards you sometimes need more power to make a track whereas if you have to pull yourself out backwards you have already made a track

Yeah but your not against the clock, winch line speed is very important for a comp truck

i'd like a mid mount pto like andrew farmers but with double pull on the front.
may be slower but could be a bit nicer on the gear..
plus i'm not in a comp vehicle..

i like my winch at the front where the winch bitch can see it. if you dont know whats going on you can make a nasy mess, ive seen the damage a pto winch does to it self when the rope goes over the side and gets jammed, not very nice.
bruces truck looks cool though. id have it.
just watched dennys 2004 , id have that truck too, very impressive for an old surf.

i saw is old truck winching on a club trip and with the auto trans he can winch about as fast as he would drive, its ####### quick. you would be running to keep up with him winching.

Those tyres are the 36x12.5 Simex's, and are what were used at the recent Kiwi.
Uses 80 series chassis, not the one from his old rig.
Lexus not supercharged.

.
If the winch is set up right the rope won't wind off the side of a mid mount cos it's spooling on from a central point well ahead of the drum. We had some probs on Telexs truck at the Kiwi with the rope looping around stuff under free spool which did some damage but that'll be easily fixed with some simple mods.
Cheers
