Hey Guys,
my '95 LBYD21 ps pump has been noisy for a while (just sounded like old belts) and more recently I noticed crud collecting around it. The other day steering intermittently became heavy. Checked the oil and sure enough way off the scale.
Topped up and degreased it all - bearing (and failed shaft seal?) definitely causing noise, as it goes quiet almost immediately when sprayed with CRC directly on the shaft.
Is replacement as straightforward as it looks? Tricks?
A full rebuild is going to be a couple of hundy in genuine parts if I do it myself.
Are they pretty bulletproof if not under-oiled like mine, as I wonder if I'm better off just getting a good second-hand one? New is not an option for value of this old truck.
On that note, anyone have one they want to sell? s/be a 49110 65G10 pump from a 93-95.
Cheers.

BUMP!
Hey guys, finally coming back to this as the squealing is driving me mad.... Does anyone have a power steering pump they'd like to part with? Should be 93-95. Cheers.
